Surakarta, 19-23 August 2024 – The Aceh Province BPS Sectoral Statistics Implementation (EPSS) Evaluation Team together with provincial BPS EPSS teams throughout Indonesia took part in the 2024 EPSS National Plenary activities held by BPS at The Sunan Hotel Solo. Each provincial BPS sent representatives from the Regional Implementation Team (TPD), Agency Assessment Team (TPB), and Quality Assurance Team (TPK) to this activity.
The EPSS National Plenary Activity is an important momentum in efforts to build quality statistics. In his direction, the Main Secretary of BPS, Imam Machdi, emphasized the importance of improving data quality and issuing EPSS recommendation letters as strategic steps to strengthen the implementation of sectoral statistics.
The EPSS National Plenary was also filled with discussions with resource persons from Bappenas, the Geospatial Information Agency, and the Ministry of Home Affairs who discussed the relationship between data from their respective agencies and BPS, both in terms of implementation and applicable regulations.
The EPSS National Plenary aims to increase the objectivity of assessments and equalize perceptions of assessments for central agencies and regional governments, especially in providing explanations regarding extreme changes at the assessment stage.
The National Plenary activities closed with the signing of an agreement on the 2024 EPSS National Plenary Minutes as a joint commitment to continue to strengthen the implementation of sectoral statistics in Indonesia.
