Abstract

The labor force in the province of Aceh in August 2012 reached 1,978 million, reduced by about 110 thousand people compared to the total labor force in February 2012 amounted to 2.088 million people were also reduced by about 23 thousand people compared to August 2011 amounted to 2.001 million people.

The working population in the province of Aceh in August 2012 reached 1,799 million, reduced by about 124 thousand people when compared to the situation in February 2012 amounted to 1.923 million people, is also reduced by about 53 thousand people when compared to August 2011 amounted to 1.852 million people.

The number of unemployed in August 2012 increased by around 14 thousand people compared to the situation in February 2012 that of 165 thousand persons compared to the situation in August 2011, the number of unemployed increased by 30 thousand persons compared to August 2011 amounted to 149 thousand people.

Unemployment Rate (TPT) in the province of Aceh in August 2012 reached 9.10 percent, 1.22 percent higher than TPT in February 2012 of 7.88 percent, and 1.67 percent higher than TPT in August 2011 was 7, 43 percent.

The employment situation in the month of August 2012 was marked by the decline in the number of workers in agriculture and services. Meanwhile, the industrial sector has increased the number of workers. Sector that declined with the highest number compared to August 2011 was sectors agriculture, horticulture, forestry, hunting, and fishing with a decrease in the number of workers reached 55 thousand.

In terms of gender, women TPT in August 2012 reached 11.74 percent higher than the 4.11 percent TPT men by 7.60 percent.
